The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Kaza plotted against Nangarhar and Afghanistan. While Nangarhar and Afghanistan both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Kaza's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Kaza's incremental SNDi rose from 4.02 to 5.38 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Kaza ranked 2nd out of 4 cities in Nangarhar and 47th out of 73 in Afghanistan as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Kaza fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Ohmi-Hachiman built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Yurimaguas built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Looking at the full network, Ohmi-Hachiman and Yurimaguas both became progressively more disconnected, while Kaza fluctuated in connectivity. Kaza and Ohmi-Hachiman have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
